Rares
Rares are a treat for any wandering adventurer who is lucky enough to cross their path offering a simple challenge, experience and an opportunity for unique loot. We have endeavored to ensure that new Rares can be found throughout the world with at least 3 added per zone
World Bosses & Micro World Bosses
Meaningful, dangerous and rewarding world content while leveling up is always a desire for the player base and with that in mind we wanted to both announce and show what we're calling Micro World Bosses. Available at lower levels on a longer spawn time these will present a firm challenge for approximately 5-10 players and rewarding Dungeon quality loot. When you see one of them stomping through be sure to /yell for some stalwart allies to tackle them.
Within the Burning Steppes the former rare spawn Volchan has been upgraded to be a true fearsome foe for large groups of adventurers and serves as the first max level World Boss available on Project Epoch.
Onyxia’s Lair
To face Onyxia herself you will have to defeat her ardent defenders Atressian and Ortorg. But just because they may lay at your feet do not expect Onyxia to be alone.
Tol Barad Island
In the midst of the sea, there lies an island of legends, Tol Barad. Once a strategic staging area for Alliance forces during the Second War, it was reduced to ruins and abandoned. But the wizards of Kul Tiras had other plans. They transformed the shattered battlements into a prison of immense magical power, Baradin Hold, to contain the most dangerous criminals on Azeroth.
Recently an urgent distress signal has been sent out as a dire situation is unfolding. A massive pirate fleet has invaded Tol Barad. These ruthless outlaws have broken into the prison and opened the cells, unleashing chaos. The Baradin Wardens have been overwhelmed by the large pirate attack.
What could have caused the pirates to launch such a massive ambush on the fortified prison complex? Who or what did the wizards of Kul Tiras keep at bay?
Tanaris Quest Preview
Sometimes the things of great value to the team simply can not be shown well during a media post, one of these things is quests. With Beta 2 our total number of new quests in the world for you to explore and engage with has reached more than 550. This includes small scale new locales throughout the world that while alone wouldn't be of value together create a coherent whole.
With that in mind we wanted to showcase some of these lesser areas and tease at the things you might uncover if you wander off of the beaten path; the first zone we wanted to show was Tanaris we hope you'll enjoy the 50+ quests you find here.
New Mount Options
We aim to make many mounts available to players that otherwise would not have been in a Vanilla world including key options from TBC and Wrath alongside Custom additions. Included are three of those examples:
- Scarlet Charger: With a drop rate to rival Rivendare himself only the lucky few or most diligent of farmers will be able to collect this mount from within the Monastery itself.
- Sea Turtle: Available to be fished from pools all around the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor this adorable little thing does not scale with skill but she's a great swimmer!
- Swift Forest Strider: Available from the Darkmoon Faire when it arrives. Mind the talons!
Explorer Contracts
One of the more prominent community requested features has been a way to reduce experience gains while on your journey to be able to soak in everything we have built and the world we all love. With that in mind we are happy to introduce you all to Explorer's Contracts. Available at level 5 or below from each races secondary town you can now opt in to permanently lower your Quest and Kill experience by 50%.
Springsocket
The Badlands are an arid and desolate region where few beasts survive and even fewer intelligent people seek out this hot and foreboding land. But where there is desperation there is one important thing, profit!
Always eager to take any copper a wandering adventurer may have the Steamwheedle Cartel are ensuring the trade and delivery of goods via the new town of Springsocket opens up new opportunities for the Horde and Alliance alike.
New NPC's, Quests and more await you within this region.
Race & Class Combos
It is well known at this point that one of our key features is the new Race & Class combinations of Undead Paladin and Dwarf Shaman. The aim of this was to provide both factions with access to a key class that they otherwise wouldn't in a Vanilla world. For some time now we have internally had plans to expand to other combinations in the future as a post launch patch however after much deliberation we have decided that those plans should come forward to be active during the most important part of a players time; their first character.
With that in mind we are happy to announce that the following new Race & Class combinations will be available in our next beta and of course at launch.

The Harborage
The Draenei that escaped outland created a new found home in the Swamp of Sorrows known as The Harborage. Efforts from the Alliance to protect these weakened beings from the Horde have led to a newfound kinship. Experimenting with their common paths of Shamanism the Wildhammer Dwarves are at the forefront of what may prove to be a powerful bond.
The Harborage has now been expanded to be a full fledged Alliance friendly town with new quests, new NPC's, flight point links and more.
Gluk’s Compound
Looming under the shadow of Dire Maul the traitor Gluk and his group of fiercely loyal ogres slowly prepare to usurp the current King Gordok. Believing it is his birth right to claim the throne following in the footsteps of his father, Gluk will stop at nothing to take charge.
Knowing that the might of Gluk knows no bounds the Steamwheedle Cartel and their agent Viggo will send adventurers across the continents and delving into dungeons to craft a weapon fit for a King hoping that when we step within the walls of Dire Maul we will be rewarded with the artifacts inside.
Mirage Raceway
The Gnome and Goblin race crews are awaiting eager new test subjects to tear up the salt flats in their latest experimental cars. Queue up to join a total of 8 players per race as you weave between checkpoints, collect powerups, sabotage other racers and speed your way to victory.
Tol Barad
Once a part of the nation of Kul Tiras the island of Tol Barad and the secretive magical prison within known only as Baradin Hold houses many of Azeroth's most fearsome prisoners. Including mages, demons, warlocks, undead war criminals and more the Wardens of the hold work tirelessly to keep these forces at bay. However, smoke has been seen rising from the isle beckoning those who are fearless to see what has unfolded inside.
Cart Transport Service
Throughout low level zones you will now find a brand new Cart Transport Service. Ferrying adventurers across the land to ensure you can get where you need to be in a jiffy. Seating up to 4 members you can sit, chat, emote and more together as you make your way towards your destinations.
Anje’Watha
Concerned by the growing Silithid presence creeping up Kalimdor the Horde lead by the Darkspear have created a new forward operating base within the sandy cliffs of Tanaris known as Anje'Watha. Working with the Hordes most powerful Shamans to ensure they can maintain this locale and drive the Silithid deep into their burrows you will uncover whole new adventures.
Aerie Peak
The dwarves of Aerie Peak are master gryphon riders, and their contributions to the Alliance during war cannot be overstated. Their High Thane, Falstad Wildhammer, rules over the Wildhammer dwarves from the top of the Aerie. On behalf of the Alliance you will aid the Wildhammer throughout the Hinterlands as part of a new Minor Faction Reputation.
Squigglecord Outpost
In the heart of the wastelands of Desolace the Gnomes of the Alliance have founded a brand new town, Squigglecord Outpost. The leader of this outpost, Dibi Squigglecord, has been recruited by the Cenarion Circle member Selrai Dewlight to follow on in her sisters research from Duskwood in the hope of restoring nature in these once fertile lands.
Fort Airheart
Led by Commander Airheart on behalf of a mysterious leader from lands afar this group of Deserters have a firm animosity for both the Alliance and the Horde. Launching attacks on caravans of both factions as they attempt to trade on the main road has lead to contracts designed to wipe out this menace.
Steamwheedle Port
On the coast of Tanaris the Gadgetzan Water Company is doing its best to rapidly expand their supply of purified water throughout the desert and neighboring zones through their central purifying facilities within Steamwheedle Port. This boom of economic growth and ever growing demand for a cool refreshment has led to both frayed tensions and new opportunities.
Stonetalon Caverns
Venture into the Warcraft 3 fan favourite locale of the Stonetalon Caverns. Dive deep within the earth following in the footsteps that Warchief Thrall and Lady Jaina Proudmoore took when meeting the Prophet, Medivh. This Dungeon will unlock shortly after the launch of Project Epoch in coordination with the arrival of new and familiar world bosses.
The Sprouts Guild
The Sprouts Guild welcomes new players to their ranks! On creation of a character, you will automatically be enrolled so that you can easily find and group with other brave adventurers for the toughest of quests and dungeons. Once you reach level 20 you will automatically be removed to pursue your path alone, encouraging you to seek out friends yourself.
Ring of Strength
Within the jungles of Stranglethorn Vale lies the Ring of Strength, a ruthless gladiator ring where even the toughest of fighters will struggle. Adventurers will fight through six waves of bosses, concluding in an epic finale with rewards that truly match a champion's skill.
Durnholde Keep
Within the bowels of Hillsbrad Foothills lies Durnholde Keep, a stronghold for the Syndicate faction. Overseen by Beve Perenolde, reconstruction of the keep is well underway. But darkness looms within...what are the Syndicate planning?
Ironforge Airfield
Within the mountains of Dun Morogh lies the Ironforge Airfield, an important location for the military might of the Dwarves and Gnomes. However, Frostmane trolls from the nearby village of Rik'watha grow ever restless. Adventurers are encouraged to visit the airfield to assist in tasks both peaceful and dangerous.
Auberdine & The Sepulcher
New Tranquillien-style reputations have been added to Auberdine and The Sepulcher. Gain reputation by completing quests, and visit the vendors for powerful gear to help you while leveling, along with cosmetic items at exalted.
Manor Mistmantle
Destinations both new and old have been changed, offering a fresh sense of adventure. Deep within the heart of Duskwood howls of pain can be heard from within Manor Mistmantle, what aren't the Night Watch telling their citizens?
