Please note that while our best efforts have been made to catalogue all of the changes coming in Beta 2.5 that are relevant to players up to level 45, some may have been missed. If you do not see an issue you have reported marked as fixed, please know this is a work-in-progress. More fixes are ongoing in preparation for Open Beta 3 in 2024.

World

General

  • Zones throughout the world have received reworked lighting focused around dusk, night and dawn.
  • Razor Hill has received an overhauled layout and visuals including updates to NPC positions, RP, and Cart routes.
  • Goldshire has received an overhauled layout and visuals including updates to NPC positions, RP, and Cart routes.
  • Valor'mok within Azshara has received a layout and visual overhaul including updates to NPC positions, new NPCs, RP events, vendors and quest givers.
  • A variety of new locations can be found throughout the world related to content for levels higher than 45.
  • Valor's Rest in Silithus has been renamed to Valor's Expedition, and now features a host of max level NPCs, vendors, flight masters, and quest givers.
  • Fixed Baradin Hold entrance floor collision.
  • Tol Barad Island has now been populated with NPCs and Rares.
  • Added a Forge and Anvil to Darnassus, and a Forge in Dolanaar.
  • Fixed an inescapable hole in the Blazing Hills.

Creatures

  • Beginning at level 14, creatures within instances and the open world now have gradually increasing health, melee damage, spell damage, and mana bonuses to introduce renewed world difficulty.
  • New Rares are now available in every zone.
  • A Racial Knowledge NPC has been added to each major faction capital with directions available from guards.
  • Stormwind Harbor and the Orgrimmar Zeppelin Quarter have both received a new elite city patrol NPC to keep these areas safe from dastardly rogues.
  • Darnassus now has a Mining and Engineering trainer found in the Craftman's Terrace. Guard directions and signposts outside of their buildings have been added.
  • Added many NPCs that should exist at launch: Elite city patrol guards, various leveling rares, lake creatures in Loch Modan, Onyxia head turn-in NPCs, Undercity and Orgrimmar faction leader guards, and Warlock quest NPCs related to Ritual of Souls, Summon Infernal, and Dreadsteed.
  • Modified the behavior of random movement to be less erratic, more closely matching Classic.
  • All creature spawns, paths, and wander ranges have been reworked to match Patch 1.2 terrain.
  • Updated the walking speed of Gordok Mage-Lords.
  • The wolf you follow for “Rite Of Vision" now moves at the correct speed.
  • Corrected various positions for Bonepaw Hyena and Starving Bonepaw within Desolace.
  • The trio of Skullsplitter enemies in Stranglethorn Vale now correctly patrol and have formation data.
  • Raider Jhash and Raider Kerr no longer sprint on foot along their journey to Razor Hill and will correctly mount up.
  • Tog'thar no longer sits randomly during his escort.
  • Removed the White Stallion next to Don Carlos.
  • A spawn of Chimaera Matriarch now has correct patrol data.
  • Decreased the spawn time of Captured Mountaineer and Scarlet Zealots within Brill.
  • Adjusted the spawn density and quantity of Trolls within the Blazing Hills in Arathi.
  • Rares in Dustwallow Marsh now have the correct respawn time.
  • Or'Kalar no longer spawns multiple times.
  • Centipaar Tunneler now despawns after some time to prevent stacking.
  • Stormwind Harbor Guards no longer reference Northrend zones.
  • Watcher Royce now has the correct gossip text when referencing the player's gender.
  • Added Hunter trainer to guard gossip in Brill.
  • Fixed missing stealth detection for many creatures in the world.
  • Witherbark Scalper now has correct combat behavior.
  • Thistle Cubs now all pull when a player engages with Den Mother.
  • Sorceress Davos has been changed to Sorcerer Davos, and now has a functioning combat script.
  • Elite city patrol NPCs now correctly have their proper abilities, in addition to a ranged attack meant to only be used when the guard cannot reach the player.
  • Remove fire effect from Kobold Laborers.
  • Raging Tempest are now immune to Nature spells.
  • Fall Elementals are now immune to Frost spells.
  • Custom Elemental type creatures are now correctly immune to fear effects.
  • Aqual Sprayer now has immunity to bleed effects.
  • The Ring of Strength bosses can no longer be kited or crowd controlled.
  • Terra no longer has a chance to spawn as a water elemental.
  • Oil Soaked Critter is no longer classified as a Humanoid.
  • Cody the Cat is no longer classified as Humanoid.
  • Warhound is no longer classified as Humanoid.
  • Darkmist Egg Sack is no longer classified as Humanoid, no longer gives xp, no longer moves and no longer gives quest credit when you kill it.
  • Stolen Boar is now tameable and correctly classified as a Beast.
  • Sniffotron MK IV is now correctly classified as Mechanical.
  • Subjugated Elemental is now correctly classified as an Elemental.
  • Raging Elemental is now correctly classified as an Elemental.
  • Teuta's Crew is now correctly classified as Undead and drops loot.
  • Brother Darrows is now part of the Stormwind faction.
  • Corrected the level of Alicia within Stormwind.
  • The robot summoned by Venture Co Machine Smith now matches the creature's level.

Quests

  • New achievements are available within a reworked Loremaster system granting each zone its own storyline based "Lorewalker" achievement. Completing each of these is required for Loremaster. Not all custom quests have been added within Beta 2.5, however we have added all relevant Blizzard quest storylines.
  • The auto accept flag has been removed from all quests within starting areas to match Vanilla behavior.
  • Various custom quest related objective drops should no longer be appearing on unrelated loot tables.
  • Custom Quests with a difficulty of 1 (very easy) now correctly give reputation.
  • “Tattered Letter” now correctly gives Stormwind reputation.
  • The quest “WANTED: Jasone” now correctly gives Thunder Bluff reputation.
  • The full Stitches event has been implemented after the completion of “Letter To Ello”.
  • Rescripted “CHOP!”.

  • The vendors for the quest "No One Drinks For Free" now correctly sell their items.
  • Encrusted Tail Fin now has a 100% drop chance.

  • On completion, any remaining keys from “Frostmane Prisoners” are now removed.
  • Added a fishing visual to the spell for Just Desserts.

Instances

  • Shadowfang Keep now uses the correct Horde and Alliance graveyards.
  • Princess Theradras in Maraudon now drops 2 pieces of loot.
  • Spirit of Veng now correctly patrols in Maraudon.
  • Noxxion's Spawn no longer drops loot from Noxxion.

Items

  • Blizzard items that granted Weapon Skill now correctly grant Project Epoch's new Expertise stat on melee weapons, and critical strike chance on ranged weapons.
  • For flavor reasons the Trueaim Gauntlets grant 1% Ranged Crit specifically, just like Fletcher's Gloves.
  • Re-itemised roughly 50 custom weapons below or at level 45.
  • Corrected spell power based coefficients for all item spells to a Vanilla state.
  • Basilisk Scale Legguards now have the correct model and display info.
  • The drop rates for various Uncommon, Rare and Epic items on world creatures have been drastically reduced.
  • The drop rates for various Uncommon, Rare and Epic items within world chests have been drastically reduced.
  • Nightfall has received a new texture.
  • Added a vendor sell price to Black Diamond and Pristine Black Diamond.
  • Elixir of Poison Resistance has been reverted to its 3.3.5 state and is now called Potion of Curing. This has the same effect, but shares a cooldown with potions instead of elixirs.
  • Mageblood Potion and Troll's Blood Potions have been renamed to clarify that they are Elixirs.
  • Changed rating to percent for Thorium Flight Blade.

Professions.

General

  • Various new recipes and items for the following professions can be seen on trainers intended for level 45+:
    • Enchanting
    • Tailoring
    • Leatherworking
    • Engineering
    • Blacksmithing
  • Mining: Earth Elementals and various Giants can now be mined for materials.
  • First Aid: Artisan First Aid trainers now correctly teach the player Heavy Mageweave Bandage, Runecloth Bandage, and Heavy Runecloth Bandage at appropriate skill levels.
  • Alchemy: Removed Elixir of Brute Force from Alchemy Trainers.
  • Enchanting: Correctly added spell hit to Enchant Boots - Accuracy.
  • Cooking: Restored the original Vanilla method of learning Artisan Cooking via quest.
  • Cooking: Removed Spice Bread from the trainers because it wasn't in Vanilla.
  • Herbalism: Various plant based creatures throughout the world can now be herbed for materials.
  • Herbalism: Lotus Affinity reduced to 0.5%.

Player

General

  • Fixed an issue where players could be unresurrectable.
  • Fixed player name uniqueness checks.
  • Various fixes to Swing Timer reset logic.
  • Various fixes to elemental weapon types and damage.
  • Corrected spell power based coefficients for all ranks of all player spells to a TBC state.
  • Fixed an issue for a variety of player spells that caused malformed formatting.
  • Fixed hundreds of talents that impact the duration, strength, cast time, mana cost, etc. of abilities to correctly impact the relevant abilities. This was one broad fix so individual talent details will not be listed.
  • Fixed an issue with aggroing friendly mobs when looting game objects in the world.
  • Reputation gold discounts are now applied at Honored instead of Friendly.
  • While you can still remove a Soul of Iron debuff after dying during this challenge, it has increased in severity. Your stats are reduced by 50% alongside a 75% movement speed debuff, limiting you to slow walking speed. Alongside this, you can no longer hearthstone, take flight paths, or mount. Many would give in when faced with such punishment, but someone at high levels can make the call to take the journey to redeem their character.

Druid

  • Mangle now correctly increases the damage of Shred and bleed effects.
  • Ferocious Bite now correctly behaves as it did in TBC.
  • Fixed the proc chance of Omen of Clarity to match 2.4.3. It now has a PPM of 2 and a 10 second internal cooldown.
  • Corrected the AP Scaling of:
    • Pounce Bleed
    • Rake
    • Swipe
  • Cyclone is available at level 46.
  • Maim is available at level 52.
  • Lifebloom is available at level 54.
  • Lacerate is available at level 56.

Warlock

  • Imps no longer attempt to enter melee range.
  • Immolate Rank 8 should no longer display on trainers.
  • Demon Trainers have been implemented and are now required to train your Warlock Demons.
  • Warlock pets now correctly no longer auto learn new spells and must be taught via Grimoires purchased from a Demon Trainer.
  • Felhunters now correctly have Paranoia and Tainted Blood, and no longer have Shadow Bite and Fel Intelligence.
  • Imp's Blood Pact now provides Stamina instead of health.
  • Fixed various issues with Warlock Demons incorrectly using 3.3.5 values for their abilities.
  • Soulshatter is available at level 44.
  • Fel Armor is available at level 52.
  • Incinerate is available at level 54.
  • Ritual of Souls is available at level 58.
  • Seed of Corruption is available at level 60.
  • Curse of Elements will now also reduce Nature resistance and increase Nature damage taken.
  • Soul Shards now stack to 5.
  • Soul Bags have received an Equip bonus similar to a Hunter Quiver that adds a chance for the Warlock to to generate an additional Soul Shard when they acquire one in normal play. Chance is equal to Soul Bag total slot number.
  • Demonic Sacrifice within the Demonology tree has been replaced with a custom variant of Demonic Empowerment.
  • Warlocks have received a new baseline ability available at level 58, Soul Pact.

Rogue

  • Mutilate can now only be used behind a target.
  • Mutilate now correctly functions at 150% if the target is poisoned.
  • Hemorrhage no longer has the 50% increased damage with daggers from Wrath of the Lich King.
  • Cloak of Shadows is available at level 38.
  • Envenom is available at level 52.
  • Deadly Throw is available at level 54.
  • Anesthetic Poison is available at level 58.
  • Shiv is available at level 60.
  • Rogues may train Axes.
  • A new Axe Specialization talent has been added to the Combat talent tree, which increases your chance to critically hit with axes by 1%. 5 ranks.
  • Rogues have received a new baseline ability available at level 42, “Redirect: Transfers any existing combo points to the current enemy target. Requires active combo points."

Hunter

  • The initial auto-shot now correctly has a 500ms wind up time.
  • Quivers and Ammo Pouches now correctly grant bonus haste.
  • Bestial Wrath no longer allows itself to be wasted when your pet is not within Line of Sight.
  • Kill Command now correctly becomes usable after the hunter deals a Critical Strike.
  • Mend Pet can no longer be used on deceased pets. (Honestly it was kinda sad.)
  • Fixed an issue where Frost Trap would fail to slow the enemy that triggered it.
  • Fixed an issue that caused Misdirection to fail when targeting your own pet.
  • Aspect of the Viper now correctly generates mana at the intended rate.
  • Learning a Hunter talent that affects your pet now properly updates your pet without despawning and respawning it.
  • Hunter Pets now have unique modifiers that affect its Damage, Armor, and Health based on its Beast family. These values are from TBC, with custom values given to Moths and Wasps, as they didn't exist when this feature did.
  • All pets have had their abilities reverted to a 2.4.3 TBC state. Because of this, Charge, Dive, and Dash are no longer included in the Pet Talent Tree.
  • Pets no longer gain resistance passively at every level. Because of this, resistances gained from the Pet Talent Tree have been increased from 30/60/90 to 50/95/140.
  • Improved the tooltips of Great/Greater/Greatest Stamina and Natural Toughness/Armor/Tank to show that they do not stack.
  • The temporary Beta Pet Adjustment hidden aura on pets has been removed. Pet stats have been confirmed to now be accurate.
  • Corrected the AP Scaling of:
    • Arcane Shot
    • Explosive Trap
    • Immolation Trap
    • Mongoose Bite
    • Serpent Sting
  • Steady Shot is available at level 52.
  • Aspect of the Viper is available at level 54.
  • Kill Command is available at level 56.
  • Snake Trap is available at level 58.
  • Misdirection is available at level 60.
  • Each Rank of Disengage has been upgraded to cause the Hunter to leap back with increasing strength and range to 15 yards, alongside the threat reduction. Requires you to be both on the ground and in combat.
  • Aspect of the Pack has been reworked to be an on use ability with a 5 minute cooldown, causing party and raid members within 25 yards to receive 40% increased movement speed for 8 seconds with no daze effect.

Shaman

  • Fixed various Shaman totems that did not appear on the Totem Bar and did not require their respective totem item.
  • Fixed an issue where Wrath of Air Totem was not using the TBC version of the totem's effect.
  • Reduced the effectiveness of Wrath of Air Totem to match the reduced level.
  • Windfury Totem no longer functions while shapeshifted into animal forms.
  • Windfury Weapon no longer functions while in Ghost Wolf form.
  • Fixed an issue where Frostbrand Weapon reduced movement speed by 50% instead of 25%.
  • Fixed an issue that caused Unleashed Rage to stack when you had multiple Shaman using different ranks of the talent.
  • Water Shield is available at level 52.
  • Wrath of Air Totem is available at level 54.
  • Earth Elemental Totem is available at level 56.
  • Fire Elemental Totem is available at level 58.
  • Bloodlust / Heroism is available at level 60.
  • The Totem Bar functionality from Wrath of the Lich King has been retained as removing it will cause addon issues. Due to this, Shamans will receive the following baseline abilities, each with a 3 second cast time:
    • Call of the Elements: "Simultaneously places up to 4 totems specified in the Totem Bar."
    • Call of the Ancestors: "Simultaneously places up to 4 totems specified in the Totem Bar. Can call different totems than Call of the Elements."
    • Call of the Spirits: "Simultaneously places up to 4 totems specified in the Totem Bar. Can call different totems than Call of the Elements or Call of the Ancestors."
  • Shamans have received a new baseline ability available at level 8 with multiple ranks; “Molten Blast: Hurls a ball of molten lava at the target for X to Y Fire damage and resetting the duration of your active Flame Shock effect."
  • The following talents have been updated to function with Molten Blast:
    • Convection
    • Concussion
    • Elemental Focus
    • Eye of the Storm
    • Elemental Fury
    • Elemental Precision
    • Elemental Mastery
    • Call of Flame: Now also increases the critical strike chance of Molten Blast.
    • Lightning Overload has been renamed to Elemental Overload and now impacts Molten Blast.
    • Lightning Mastery has been renamed to Fire and Lightning Mastery and now also impacts Molten Blast.

Warrior

  • The talent Defiance no longer mentions Expertise and now functions as intended.
  • Fixed an issue where Execute did less damage than intended.
  • Fixed an issue where Blood Craze was still restoring health in 3.3.5 amounts.
  • Victory Rush is available at level 10.
  • Spell Reflection is available at level 54.
  • Commanding Shout is available at level 58.
  • Intervene is available at level 60.
  • Battle Shout will now apply to your full raid group.
  • Commanding Shout will now apply to your full raid group.
  • The positions of Death Wish and Sweeping Strikes have been swapped within the Arms and Fury Talent trees.
  • Improved Taunt within the Protection tree has been upgraded to also increase the range of Taunt by 7 yards at Rank 1 and 15 yards at Rank 2.
  • Warriors have received a new baseline ability available at level 40 named Heroic Leap.

Priest

  • Fixed an issue that caused Priests to start with Mana Burn Rank 1 on character creation.
  • Fixed a bug where Priests were unable to train Mana Burn Rank 2.
  • The Priest talent Misery now works as intended.
  • Fixed an issue where Shadow Vulnerability triggered by the Priest talent "Shadow Weaving" incorrectly said that it increased Shadow damage done by the target, instead of Shadow damage taken.
  • Shadow Word: Death is available at level 52.
  • Binding Heal is available at level 54.
  • Shadowfiend is available at level 56.
  • Prayer of Mending is available at level 58.
  • Prayer of Fortitude will now apply to your full raid group.
  • Prayer of Shadow Protection will now apply to your full raid group.
  • Prayer of Spirit will now apply to your full raid group.
  • Somewhere in the world you will find a tome granting priests the ability to learn Levitate Rank 2, which allows Levitate to be cast on raid and party members.
  • With the addition of Tauren Priests, the following new ability is available from level 10 and swappable via the Racial Knowledge system; “Radiance: Causes the target to emit harmful rays of light, dealing X to Y Holy damage to up to 3 enemies around the target every 2 sec for 16 sec."
  • With the addition of Tauren Priests the following new ability is available from level 20 and swappable via the Racial Knowledge system; “An'she's Protection: Reduces the chance that attacks and spells against you will be critical hits by 20%. Lasts 15 sec."
  • With the addition of Gnome Priests the following new ability is available from level 10 and swappable via the Racial Knowledge system; “Bedside Manner: Greatly increases the morale of party members, giving them X mana every 5 sec. Effect lasts 15 sec."
  • With the addition of Gnome Priests the following new ability is available from level 20 and swappable via the Racial Knowledge system, “Medical Practice: Increases your Spirit by 10% of your Intellect for 20 sec."
  • All priests have received a new baseline ability available from level 34; “Penance: Launches a volley of holy light at the target, causing 175 to 214 Holy damage to an enemy, or 491 to 550 healing to an ally instantly and every 1 sec for 2 sec.". This ability is inspired by the Wrath of the Lich King with the below key twist:
  • Shadowform will now dynamically alter Penance giving it a new Shadow visual alongside flipping the potency of the heal / damage to do reduced healing to allies and increased Shadow damage to enemies bringing it into the Shadow DPS toolkit.
  • The following Discipline tree talents have been upgraded to target the Holy variant of Penance:
    • Silent Resolve
    • Inner Focus
    • Force of Will
  • The following Holy tree talents have been upgraded to target the Holy variant of Penance:
    • Holy Specialization
  • The following Shadow tree talents have been upgraded to target the Shadow variant of Penance:

Paladin

  • Fixed an issue where Forbearance lasted 2 minutes instead of 1 minute.
  • Fixed an issue where Illumination could proc twice.
  • Fixed Judgement of the Crusader stacking.
  • Crusader Aura is available at level 48.
  • Seal of Vengeance is available at level 54.
  • Seal of Penitence is available at level 54.
  • Avenging Wrath is available at level 60.

Mage

  • Fixed an issue where a Mage's Water Elemental still used 3.3.5 spell values.
  • Invisibility is available at level 36.
  • Spellsteal is available at level 44.
  • Molten Armor is available at level 52.
  • Arcane Blast is available at level 54.
  • Ice Lance is available at level 56.
  • Conjure Mana Ruby now has 3 charges to mimic the Burning Crusade rank of Mana Gem known as Mana Emerald.
  • Slowfall can now be cast on raid and party members.
  • Arcane Brilliance will now apply to your full raid group.
  • The effect of the Arcane Fortitude talent has been merged with Presence of Mind. In its place you will now find Focus Magic from Wrath of the Lich King.
  • Slow has been removed as the Arcane tree capstone talent and replaced with a new spell, Arcane Barrage, inspired by Wrath of the Lich King.
  • The following talents in the Arcane tree have been updated to function with Arcane Barrage.

  • The Level Booster Beta Helper will now allow you to boost to levels 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, and 45 including level appropriate equipment crates at levels 15, 30, and 45. This allows a broad amount of content to be tested at both an undergeared and accurately geared level, to gauge a middle ground of difficulty.
  • The Profession Boosting Beta Helper now works from levels 15 to 60.
  • When determining loot roles for unique loot items your bank will now also be checked.
  • Implemented SPELL_ATTR2_DONT_BLOCK_MANA_REGEN.
  • Fixed a crash related to reputation price discounts.
